About Us

At Second Chance our priority is finding the best match for each family.  Animals, like people, are individuals and have different requirements for a successful adoption, according to their personalities.  Acting in partnership with many animal controls across the state; Second Chance acts as an extension of local animal control programs, providing the extra time and resources needed in re-homing animals,  therefore reducing the need for euthanasia.  Second Chance rarely takes owner releases.  Instead we prefer to use our resources for the animals in danger of being "put to sleep"at Open admission shelters/Animal Controls.

Second Chance cannot accept stray or abandoned animals.  If you have found an animal, please call your local animal control! If a pet has gotten lost or strayed from home, Animal Control is the best chance the pet has of finding it's owner.  It is not uncommon for pets who are lost to rapidly loose weight and act scared.  Don't assume the pet has no home or was abused.  Animal Control makes every attempt to get lost pets reunited with owners, and adopt out pets, they do not immediatly euthanize!
